How can I make a clear vase into a lamp? Similar to a Ginger Jar lamp? ?

I am looking to make my own ginger jar lamp to save some money. details on how to go about this? with a lighting kit and such?

Most any craft store sells lighting kits, they are very easy to assemble. The hardest part is drilling the hole in vase. If you don't want to do this yourself take the jar to a glass shop. They will drill it for a couple bucks.But drill the hole at the base on the side, if you drill it through the bottom the cord will make the lamp wobble.If you want to do it yourself, use a small drill or dremel with the appropriate bit, go slow, stop often to let it cool so it doesn't break.
