I need help with taking pictures of clear glass... like a vase? Doesn't always show details and such.?

Your trick will be in the lighting and possibly in your backgrounds. Since I can't see what you're working with this will be a little hard to explain, you'll need to use a filter for many types of light to keep from picking up things that aren't really supposed to be there and you'll want a background to keep things consistent. Here, check out this website, they'll show you better than I can explain. They use a EZcube but many of the ideas are adaptable. Good luck, see link belowI need help with taking pictures of clear glass... like a vase? Doesn't always show details and such.?
I find these pics work best with no artificial light....of clourse brigh sunlight is no good either. Just try a well lighted room during the day with a few light sources on and take a wide aperature with about a 1/60 shutter. The combination of natural and low light and the long shutter should give you lots of detail on your vase..........good luck............I need help with taking pictures of clear glass... like a vase? this is always tricky due to the nature of glass and the reflective properties.

I might suggest that you use a soft cloth backdrop of a color you prefer to adsorb some of the light and use either floods shining thru fabric or if you are on a budget try draping a soft white cloth over your flash to scatter the flash light which causes washout. (cheesecloth is a cheap light diffuser)
